On December 6th level 3 class students had an excursion to visit Disaster Prevention Center and went through various simulations using their facility, such as evacuation going through a room filled with smoke etc.
They also have a facility where people can experience the same level of shake as that of Kanto Great Earthquake which happened in 1923 or Eastern Japan Great Earthquake in 2011.
The shake is very intense, and it scared us a lot when we heard the announcement saying that the shake actually continued for 10 minutes.
After the experience we observed the exhibition corner showing how you should act after a great earthquake and what kind of life would await after one.
Even those who are always very cheerful in classroom were paying close attention to each thing they learn from the facility with serious face. Many students commented that they knew what to do when earthquake occurs but did not know much about what to do after the earthquake so it was a very eye-opening experience for them to visit the center to learn that.
We would say that it would be a very good experience for all of us and those who are reading this to have an opportunity to learn the proper course of action in case of severe natural disaster.
