Some time ago, KCP's table tennis club members went to Tsukiji-Honganji Bon-dance festival with Waseda University's international interaction club members, and we had an interview with Ou san who is a member of the table tennis club to share his experience with us.
"It was the first time for us to participate in Bon-dance festival so we had no idea how to dance. Japanese students who went with us taught us how, it was difficult at first but soon we got the grasp of it and tried 3 dances with different background music. In Korea we do not have custom of dancing in this kind of festival so it was such a new experience for us, and we also loved the time we spent with Japanese students there! We are really looking forward to experiencing more Japanese cultures while we are here!!"
Other than the festival above, students also went to a Bon-dance festival held at Hanazono elementary school in the school neighborhood. Please always be positive in experiencing various cultural aspects as much as you can while you are in other countries, that is one of the biggest joy in your study abroad experiences.
