Last Friday we had a cooking class as one of the co-curricular activities. This time we cooked Chirashi-zushi and Osuimono.
Chirashi-zushi is a popular Japanese dish that we cook on March 3rd Girl's day or when there are events to cerebrate. When you prepare rice for sushi, you pour some vinegar and cool the rice with hand-fan as you can see in the photo. At the same time you mix the rice thoroughly, and that will make it look nice with shiny coat of vinegar. But mixing it too much might mush the rice so please be careful.... Kinshi-Tamago (thin sliced egg that you see in the photo)must be cooked and sliced very thin. Some students were so good at this! We put all the materials on the vinegar rice and we have Chirashi-zushi! Good job everyone! |
