Visit to Institute for fire safety & disaster preparation

Although we hear a lot about natural disasters there are still many people who do not fully understand what they should do in case they really get involved in those disasters.
So this time we paid a visit to Institute for fire safety % disaster preparation that locates close from the school.
Students reviewed what they should do in case of earthquakes and fires, and they also saw the history of Japanese firefighters and fire trucks with great interest. It was a good opportunity for the students to learn how scary those disasters are and how Japanese society has been preparing for the people's safety from those disasters.

Students had many comments about their visit after we came back.
They said,
*They were able to see what is different and what is common between their countries' safety system and Japan's.
*They were surprised to find that the calling number and the looks of fire department buildings are all the same.
*The exhibition of all the historical goods showing how the fire fighters and their equipment evolved was very interesting and easy to understand.
*We re-acknowledged the fear for natural disasters and we felt safe that Japan is doing so much for people's safety.

The visit motivated the students to see more new things outside the school, and we would like to start planning the next excursion to provide more insights to them.
