Participating in a tea celemony

On December 12th there was a tea ceremony held by our tea ceremony club students as part of their co-curricular class activity, and I participated in the tea ceremony as a guest.
I learned the basic flow of the ceremony, I showed appreciation to the host and took a sweet to eat before I have a cup of green tea. The sweets offered to the guests on that day were shaped like Christmas tree and snow man, they were so cute!
When I get my cup of green tea, I place the cup on my left palm and turned the cup twice clockwise and took a sip. We say "Okagen-kekkou desu" after tasting the first sip, to tell the host that the tea is perfect. I also learned that when we finish those green tea in the ceremony we make a small sipping sound in the end to sip some bubbles left in the bottom, to tell the host that we enjoyed and finished the tea. The tea was a little bitter but tasty, and I was fascinated how well those students who trained in the tea class for just one term can perform the ceremony as hosts, it was a great experience for me to be there on that day.
